3rd ALARM 20 PERSHING AVE

Tuesday January 19, 2010: A third alarm fire occurred just after 8pm at 20 Pershing Ave. Firefighters arrived on scene with heavy smoke from the roof of a one story commercial property which is the home of C & W Rug cleaners. First due Engine 2 arrived on scene and transmitted the 10-75 bringing in Fairview with their F.A.S.Team. Poughkeepsie's normal first due Tower Ladder 2 was out of service and Car 10 requested Arlington FD with their Ladder. A third Alarm was transmitted to backfill the City Stations. The fire is still under investigation and there were no reported injuries.

ENGINE 2 - LADDER 1 MUTUAL AID TO ARLINGTON FD

Nov. 18, 2009: Engine 2 and Ladder 1 were called to assist the Arlington Fire Department at 12 Raymond ave. The fire was called in around 10am at an office building by a tenant who noticed smoke and flames coming from a room on the first floor. He then proceeded to evacuate the building and notified 911 of the fire. The fire was brought under control with in 20 minutes.

3RD ALARM FIRE 205 SOUTH AVE.

Nov. 10, 2009: Firefighters were called to 205 South Avenue around 7:30pm for a reported structure fire. Car 10 arrived on scene with fire out 4 windows on the second floor of a two story brick commercial building. Car 10 transmitted the 10-75 followed by a 2nd Alarm bringing in Fairview's F.A.S.Team and all off duty members. A 3rd Alarm was transmitted to relocate companies in to the City Stations and the fire was under control within a Half hour. The fire is being investigated by City Fire and PD and thdere was one reported FF injury.

Nov. 7 2009: Firefighters were dispatched for an AFA at the County Court House at 10 market st. around 12:30pm. During an investigation, Unit 20 reported smoke from a vent on the 2nd floor with a sprinkler flow activation on the 3rd floor. A 10-75 was transmitted bringing in Fairview with their F.A.S.Team. A fire was found in the break room and the sprinklers did their job by keeping the fire in check and saving the building from further damage. While this alarm was going on, mutual aid companies from Arlington and Fairview were dispatched for smoke on the 3rd floor at 135 Main St.

3RD ALARM 134 MANSION ST.

October 2, 2009: At around 10pm, City 911 dispatched all companies for a reported Structure fire at 134 Mansion St. DC Decker arrived on scene within minutes a found a 2 1/2 Story vacant building with heavy fire from the second floor and there was also a burn victim. DC transmitted the 10-75 but then immediately requested a 2nd Alarm because there was severe exposure problems on both sides of the fire building. First due Engine 2 stretched a line to protect exposure 2 and Engine 3 found a Hydrant to supply Tower Ladder 2.

10-75 7 GRUBB ST.

September 27, 2009: At around 10pm, firefighters were dispatched for a structure fire a 7 Grubb St. While en route, City PD were on scene confirming with fire out several windows. First Due Engine 2 arrived on scene and transmitted the 10-75 and stretched a line to the second floor bedroom/living room where the fire originated. There was slight extension to the 3rd floor. All occupants were out of the home at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries.

10-75 22 MEYER AVE.

Saturday Sept. 12, 2009: An Alarm was dispatched for smoke in the 2nd floor bedroom around 11:30am. Engine 3 arrived on scene with nothing showing but when they investigated they found heavy smoke on the 2nd floor of a private dwelling. Unit 30 (E3 Lt.) transmitted the 10-75 bringing in Fairview with their F.A.S.Team. Engine 3 stretched their 2in line while Ladder 2 vented the 2nd floor. All other companies went work inside and quickly brought this fire under control within 20 minutes. There were no reported injuries.

10-75 18 HOOKER AVE.

September 4, 2009: At around 8:30pm Poughkeepsie Firefighters were dispatched for a structure fire a 18 Hooker Ave. City PD arrived on scene confirming there was a fire in the attic. A 10-75 was transmitted bringing in Fairview FD with their F.A.S.Team. Engine 3 stretched a line to the 3rd floor of this 3 story multiple dwelling and quickly knocked down the flames. 2ND ALARM 10 HARRISON ST.

August 19, 2009: Firefighters were dispatched for a structure fire at 10 Harrison St. around 2:15 am this morning. Engine 2 arrived on scene with fire in the rear of a 3 story vacant and transmitted the 10-75 bringing in Fairview with their F.A.S.Team. This balloon construction allowed the fire to travel to the cockloft and a 2nd Alarm was transmitted bringing in any off duty members. The fire was placed under control at about 3:10am and is being investigated by both City FD and PD. There were no reported injuries.

10-75 119 TALMADGE ST.

August 12, 2009: Firefighters were dispatched for a reported house fire at 119 Talmadge St appox. 9:30pm. Engine 1 arrived on scene with smoke showing from the 2nd floor and a 10-75 was transmitted. With Both City Ladder Trucks out of service, Fairview FD came in as the first due truck and Arlington FD was called in as the F.A.S.Team. The fire was held to the 2nd floor and there were no reported injuries.
